Black Francis w/ Joey Santiago - The Cover of the Rolling Stone ::: This has been one of my favorite finds of the summer, a random track from A Twistable, Turntable Man: A Musical Tribute to the Songs of Shel Silverstein. Most of the collection is fairly rootsy, but this one is pretty close to full-on Pixies weirdness. It’s a great little collection as a whole, Silverstein actually wrote some great songs (most famously this one and “A Boy Named Sue”) despite being far more well known for his children’s books and poetry (The Giving Tree, Where The Sidewalk Ends). Enjoy.
